Fixed the Bike! Well the tyre at least..

Just got back from an afternoon at the Plan B, New Orleans Community Bike Project. Had a major puncture to fix up… With expert guidance from the friendly assistant I  managed to get it sorted. The first attempt with a new inner tube, saw an exploding tyre only a few momments after we’d finished and commented "good job!". Slightly embarrased I then patched up the old tube and got it all sorted. All I need now is a new sadle, gears and some lessons about the American highway code!

The sun is now going down over the city and the main thing that stands out from today is how friendly the majority of people are. Noticed this before but to not such an extent as today. Lots of people said "Hello!" as I cycled past them, and the peeps in Plan B were super friendly, doing something so worthwhile too. I’ve heard public transport has been stumped in a big way since Katrina, so anything that supports the bike riding community has to be respected.. Major Props to them!

Also managed to get the first sticker up for good friends TAK!  Who kicked off the much loved site and design classic Sticker Nation! More NOLA stick ups to follow..
