Glacier for Good Cause!

On Tuesday night I had the privelage of attending the Cure Leukaemia Art Auction with one of my works going under the hammer! An array of wonderful art and photography was full sale including my Franz Joseph Glacier image. It was also used as the key promo image on all marketing and ended up selling for the healthy sum of £375.00 in the live auction!

I couldn’t help but get into the spirit and ended up buying one of Stuart Whipps’s works from his ‘Aladdin Houses’ project. For this Stuart photographed prefabricated houses which were constructed in 1917 to house the increasing workforce at the Austin works at Longbridge.

I’ve got a love affair with Prefab houses at the moment, so no surprise I ended up bidding! Plus it’s a very good cause! Stuart photographed 16 houses in total but sadly only one was for sale at auction, this one below…
