Muses

The Muses Parade rolled last night and so did the first run for the 9th Ward Marching band. Even though it was cold, the crowds were out in force. I marched with the band all the way along the 6 mile route from Uptown to Canal Street. It was awesome to march with them and see the crowds reactions as we passed through. The 9th Ward seems to be a real favourite amongst New Orleanians. The band looked and sounded amazing last night, they definetely managed to provoke good reactions. Everyone in the group has such a good attitude, friendly and ultra dedicated. It’s this unique team & community spirit that really makes them shine.

After the parade I caught a lift back to the starting point on a High School bus.. then it was off to the Saint for another long night of party madness, with an intermission at Circle bar for a Bounce DJ Set, all New Orleans Hip Hop. Nice! If only DJ Chicken was about. For some reason the girls in the Saint wanted to show off their kissing talents. Perhaps good pics to send to Vice Magazine for the Do’s! Not the sort of thing I’d usually post but asthetically there’s something I really like about these shots.
