New Years Eve!

The last day of 2007 and I’m sat looking through Flickr and discovering old friends, who’s photography inspired me a few years back and has yet again given me a hit of inspiration for the year ahead.

I’m also sat thinking about what I’ve achieved this year and how to improve and raise the level for next year. My New Year’s resolution is definitely to shoot more on film and travel a lot more. Do more editorial and reportage, seeking out stories that grab my attention and work with writers to bring them to life. Plus there’s a few short films I want to get made, shooting on 8mm and hopefully 16mm for one of them.

Winning Channel 4’s 4Talent Award this year has been a highlight for sure but still the most memorable part of 2007 has to be my New Orleans adventures. I’ve got to go back there again sometime early in 2008. I’d also like to revisit Prague and ‘The Plastic People of The Universe’ who will next year mark their 40th Anniversary as a legendary Rock ‘N’ Roll band that kicked off the Velvet Revolution.

One thing is for certain at the end of 2007 the world is still in a right state with regards conflict and chaos. Strange how the future looks bright but bleak in so many different ways.

The piece of Graf above popped up the other day, just round the corner from my house… A timeless statement and scarily hard to find a day when it isn’t apt.

Stay positive folks… See you 2008.
