Windy Wellington

I was sat in Auckland, Thursday night and spotted that So So Modern were playing on a Tug Boat down in Wellington on Friday night!

So I immediately booked a flight down to the windy city…

After checking into the closest hostel I headed down to Oriental Bay and the Tug Boat, which turned out to be a ridiculously cool venue disguised as a floating restaurant…

However as soon as I lowered myself down the stairs into the hull it turned into a place of dreams! Reminding me of an old working mans club or some kind of retro function room! Perfect setting!

The gig was awesome with a super friendly crowd! Good chatting with So So Modern, as I did the live visuals for them on the Transgressive stage at Leeds festival back in August. 

Obviously I had to take a couple of pics of the bands…

First up were a great band called Over The Atlantic…

Really fun gig… reminded me of times spent over in New Orleans partying down at the Spellcaster Lodge with Quintron & Miss Pussycat for the Maritime ball! Guess it’s the nautical theme on the Tug Boat....

I saw over the atlantic in NY they were great, their album is really good too.
